Description
This is a description of the specific evaluation of the 1D vertical profile of ionospheric electron density given a vertical-incidence ionogram where the profile shape is represented by formalism accepted for the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI). Techniques for obtaining IRI parameters (anchors) of the profile are commonly using the best-fit approach to the tabulated density profile.
