IPS-5A is the baseline instrument in the family of KEL IPS ionosondes developed in 1993 for ionosphere monitoring operations in Australia.
Continuing development of the IPS-5 series resulted in upgrades to the original 5A design known as 5C, 5D, and 5F. The IPS 5F model
is currently in continuous operation at 10+ locations in Australasia, managed by the Space Weather Service (SWS) of the Australian Bureau
of Meterotology (BOM).
