Description
LOFAR is the Low-Frequency Array designed by ASTRON that consists of a large number of phased RF antenna fields and receivers. The actual configuration of the LOFAR array varies depending on experiment (core, remote and international regimes of station operations).
Operational Modes
-
BeamForming
beamforming- Description
- Phased array operation with addition of all antenna signals in phase
-
BeamForming LBA
beamforming_lba- Description
- Phased array operation with addition of all antenna signals in phase, low frequency band (10 MHz - 90 MHz)
-
BeamForming HBA
beamforming_hba- Description
- Phased array operation with addition of all antenna signals in phase, high frequency band (110 MHz - 240 MHz)
-
Interferometry
