Description
The National Observatory of Athens (NOA) is the first research institution established in Greece (1842). In PITHIA-NRF project, NOA participates with the Ionospheric Group of the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IG/IAASARS). The main objectives of the IG/IAASARS is to perform systematic ionospheric monitoring and to develop ionospheric and trans-ionospheric nowcasting and prediction systems through the on-line implementation of advanced modelling techniques ingesting ground and space data from all geospace regimes. The IG/IAASARS participates in a large number of European and international projects either as the prime contractor or partner. The group operates the Athens Digisonde, the DIAS system and the TechTIDE that will be registered and further exploited in PITHIA-NRF.
