<description>
The EISCAT UHF and VHF radar transmitters are located at
Ramfjordmoen near Tromsø, Norway. The same site also hosts the
EISCAT HF Heating facility and some of the UiT Arctic University
of Norway observatory instruments, as well as several guest
instruments. EISCAT also has remote receiver sites in Kiruna
(Swedish Institute of Space Physics) and Sodankylä (Sodankylä
Geophysical Observatory, University of Oulu), enabling tristatic
vector measurements. The remote receivers were originally part of
the UHF radar but were converted to receive the VHF frequency
during 2012.
