Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory is a research institute and observatory within the University of Oulu. It hosts instruments including the EISCAT Sodankylä receiver, the SGO ionosonde and other ground-based instrumention. The location is shared with the Finnish Meteorological Institute Arctic Research Center, which has a large set of meteorological and atmosperic research instruments and a ground station for satellite data.
