Abstract

EISCAT Dynasondes observe the ionosphere in short intervals (down to 2 minutes). The ionograms and retrieved parameters are searchable in an online database.

Description

EISCAT operates a digital HF sounder at the main site at Ramfjordmoen near Tromsø. Until 2015 there was also a similar instrument at the Svalbard site. The instrument is normally used for regular ionosoundings, but can also be reconfigured for other purposes. Data are freely available through an online database.
